Exact Hosting customers can access cPanel directly without logging into the Exact Hosting client area each time. To do this, you need three pieces of information: your cPanel username, your cPanel password, and your server name. This article shows you where to find each one and lists the URLs you can use to reach the cPanel login screen.
About cPanel server information
cPanel is the control panel where you manage your hosting plan: files, email, databases, SSL, and more. The Exact Hosting client area is a convenient way to reach cPanel, but the cPanel login also works as a standalone URL. Once you save your server name and username, you (or a trusted web developer) can sign in to cPanel without going through the Exact Hosting client area first.
Note: Store your cPanel credentials in a secure password manager. Anyone with the server name, username, and password can access your hosting account.
Before you begin
- An active Exact Hosting account with a cPanel hosting plan. The cPanel login is only available for active hosting services.
- Your Exact Hosting login credentials. You need to sign in to the client area to retrieve your server details.
Step 1: Open your Exact Hosting client area
Sign in to your account so you can navigate to your hosting service.
- Open the Exact Hosting client area.
- Click Account, then click Login.
Step 2: Open your hosting service
Locate the hosting plan associated with the server details you need.
- Select Services.
- Click Active next to your hosting service.
Step 3: Launch cPanel
Open the cPanel interface so you can read the server name and username from the browser.
- Click Login to cPanel.
- Note the server name and port number from your browser's address bar (for example, servername.exacthosting.com:2083).
- Copy the login username from the Current user field in cPanel's general information panel.
Step 4: Save your cPanel login details
With the server name, username, and password, you can sign in to cPanel directly without going through Exact Hosting.
