Configuring a Mail Client for Webs Email

Webs email runs on the Everyone.net platform. You can access your mailbox directly through Webs webmail, or you can connect a desktop or mobile mail client over IMAP, POP3, or SMTP. This article lists the server settings, ports, and DNS records you need to set up Webs email in your mail client.

About Webs email

Webs email is hosted on the Everyone.net platform. Webmail is available at the Webs email portal, and any IMAP, POP3, or SMTP-compatible mail client can connect using the settings below. Your username is always the full email address, and your password is the one you set in the mail services section of your Webs account.

Note: IMAP is recommended over POP3 if you want your mail to stay in sync across multiple devices.

Before you begin

  • Your full Webs email address. This is the username for both incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Your Webs email password. This is the password you configured in the mail services section of your Webs account. If you've forgotten it, you can reset your password.
  • A mail client that supports IMAP, POP3, or SMTP. Examples include Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, and the default mail apps on iPhone, iPad, and Android.

Step 1: Configure incoming mail

Choose either IMAP or POP3 for receiving mail, then enter the matching server name and port in your mail client.

IMAP (recommended)

Connection typeServer namePort
IMAPimap.everyone.net143
IMAP with SSLimap.everyone.net993

POP3

Connection typeServer namePort
POP3pop.everyone.net110
POP3 with 128-bit SSLpop.everyone.net995

Warning: Whenever possible, use the SSL port, 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP3. Non-SSL ports send your password unencrypted.

Step 2: Configure outgoing mail (SMTP)

Use the following SMTP server to send mail. SMTP authentication is required, and the username and password are the same as your incoming mail credentials.

Connection typeServer namePort
SMTP Authenticated with 128-bit SSLsmtp.everyone.net465
SMTP Authenticated (alternate)smtp.everyone.net2525

Tip: In Microsoft Outlook, enable the option My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication in your account's outgoing server settings.

Full port reference

If you need a complete reference for all supported protocols and ports, use the table below.

Connection typeServer namePort
POP3pop.everyone.net110
POP3 with 128-bit SSLpop.everyone.net995
IMAPimap.everyone.net143
IMAP with SSLimap.everyone.net993
SMTP Authenticatedsmtp.everyone.net25
SMTP Authenticated (alternate)smtp.everyone.net2525
SMTP Authenticated with 128-bit SSLsmtp.everyone.net465
LDAP3 (shared address book)ldap.everyone.net389

Step 3: Configure DNS records for your domain

If you manage your own DNS, add the MX and SPF records below so Webs can receive mail for your domain and pass sender authentication checks.

MX records

HostnamePriority
sitemail.everyone.net0
sitemail.everyone.net1

SPF (TXT) record

Record typeValue
TXTv=spf1 include:sitespf.everyone.net ?all

DKIM (CNAME) record

HostnameRecord typeValue
hmail._domainkeyCNAMEhmail._domainkey.carrierzone.com

Step 4: Test sending and receiving

After saving your settings, send a test message to yourself and confirm it arrives. If sending fails on port 465, try port 2525 with SMTP authentication.
