Two-Factor Authentication for cPanel

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account.  2FA can be enabled or disabled at any time within your cPanel account. 

External apps like Google authenticator or Duo syncs the code on your device and will be required to log into your account.  You'll need to download the app on your device before proceeding. 

Enabling 2FA in cPanel

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Select the Services icon.

  3. Click Active next to your hosting service.

  4. Select Two-Factor Authentication.
    Note:  If you do not see the two-factor icon, please contact support.

  5. Press Set up Two-Factor Authentication.

  6. Scan the QR code with apps like Google Authenticator or Duo.  Manual code entry is listed below if you cannot scan the QR code.

  7. Enter the code as displayed on the app you chose in the security field and press Configure Two-Factor Authentication.

  8. Congratulations, you have successfully set up two-factor authentication for your cPanel account.

Disabling 2FA in cPanel

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Select the Services icon.

  3. Click Active next to your hosting service.

  4. Select Two-factor Authentication.

  5. Press Remove Two-Factor Authentication.
