Managing cPanel access

The cPanel hosting platform allows users with credentials to log in directly.  You will need the username, password, and server name to log in to cPanel and bypass your Exact Hosting account.  The cPanel login credentials can be given to a trusted user at your discretion.   

Locating cPanel log-in credentials

Users can access their cPanel directly without logging into Exact Hosting every time.  You will need your username, password, and the server name to log in.  This information can be shared with a web developer at your discretion.

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.

  2. Select Services.

  3. Press Active next to your hosting service.

  4. Click on Login to cPanel.

  5. Save the server name and port number from the address bar.

  6. Copy the login username from the current user field.

  7. The combined information gathered will grant access to your hosting account. Be sure to replace example.com with your domain name.  You can share this information with a web developer at your discretion.
    Note: It's recommended that this information be stored safely. 
    Login url
    • servername.exacthosting.com:2083
    • example.com/cpanel
    • example.com/cpanel
    Login username
    • The username.
    Login password
    • Password

Accessing cPanel through a web browser

You can access cPanel with various URLs to connect from any web browser.  Accessing requires the domain name to be connected to your cPanel hosting IP address. 
Note: Replace example or servername with your specified information.

cPanel login methods Function
example.com/cpanel
  • Entering your domain name with /cpanel into your browser address bar will load the cPanel login screen.
example.com:2083
  • Entering your domain name with :2083 into your browser address bar will load the cPanel login screen.
servername.exacthosting.com:2083
  • Entering your server name with :2083 into your browser address bar will load the cPanel login screen.
    Note: Replace servername with your designated server hostname. Enter any login method in a web browser.
    Note: Replace example.com with your domain name.

Resetting a password on the cPanel log-in page

Password reset can be done through the cPanel log-in page. 

  1. Enter any of the cPanel login methods onto your web browser.

Resetting a password in the Exact Hosting client area 

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.

Resetting a password within the cPanel password & security section

  1. Log into your cPanel.
  2. Press the user icon followed by Password & security.

  3. Enter the old password and a new password.  Then hit Change your password now!.

Resetting a password through Web Host Manager (WHM)

The WHM allows you to change passwords for your individual cPanel accounts.  This applies to Reseller, VPS, and Dedicated hosting accounts only.

  1. Log into WHM.

    • https://ServerName/whm
    • https://ServerName:2087
  2. Click List accounts.

  3. Enter the domain name and press Find.

  4. Click the icon next to the cPanel account.  Enter a new password and hit Change.
