Managed WordPress Navigation

With Managed WordPress, Exact Hosting handles WordPress core updates, backups, and malware cleanup for you. The tools in your Exact Hosting account let you complete common management tasks yourself when needed.

About Managed WordPress

Managed WordPress includes a set of account-level tools in the Exact Hosting client area for managing your domain, DNS, disk usage, PHP version, and WordPress admin access. The WordPress installation itself is managed by the Exact Hosting support team — direct WordPress Manager controls are not available on Managed WordPress plans.

Before you begin

  • An active Managed WordPress service. These tools are available on Managed WordPress plans only.
  • A completed SSL provisioning. SSL provisioning may take up to 24 hours after activation.

Step 1: Open your Managed WordPress service

  1. Log in to the Exact Hosting client area.
  2. Select Services.
  3. Click Active next to your Managed WordPress service.

Accessing the WordPress admin area

Exact Hosting recommends the auto-login feature instead of yourdomain.com/wp-admin for better security and easier access.

  1. From your service page, click Login to open the WordPress admin area.

Disk usage

  1. From your service page, click Disk Usage.
  2. Review the site statistics displayed.

DNS Zone Editor

  1. From your service page, click DNS Zone Editor.
  2. Click the Pencil icon to edit an existing record.
  3. To add a new record, click Create DNS Record.
  4. Fill in the record details and click Create.

Domain aliases

A domain alias points an additional domain at your existing site.

  1. From your service page, click Domain aliases.
  2. Click Create Domain Alias.
  3. Enter the alias domain and click Create.

Note: The alias domain must be registered with a valid registrar and pointed to your Exact Hosting DNS servers before it will function.

Editing a domain alias

  1. From the Domain aliases page, click Edit next to an alias.
  2. Toggle Enable, enter the redirect domain, and click Save.

PHP version

  1. From your service page, click PHP Version.
  2. Click the Pencil icon.
  3. Select the PHP version you want and click Save.

Subdomains

  1. From your service page, click Subdomains.
  2. Click Create Subdomain.
  3. Enter the subdomain and click Create.

Editing a subdomain

  1. From the Subdomains page, click Edit next to a subdomain.
  2. Enable the toggle, enter the redirect domain, and click Save.

Unban IP address

  1. From your service page, click Unban IP Address.
  2. The field auto-populates with your current IP. Click Unban.

WordPress Manager

Note: WordPress Manager is not available on Managed WordPress plans. The support team manages your WordPress installation. For self-service WordPress Manager features, see The WordPress Manager Hosting Guide.

Enhanced email add-on

The included email service is created automatically once your order is processed and appears on your Products and Services page. For setup instructions, see the hosted email support guide.

  1. From your service page, click Active next to the email service.
