cPanel and WHM use the Jupiter theme by default. Jupiter replaced the older Paper Lantern theme back in April 2022, bringing a cleaner layout and faster loading. This article walks through the main areas of the Jupiter cPanel interface so you know where to find common features.
Note: The original article framed the Jupiter theme as a recent update in April 2022. Jupiter has now been the default cPanel theme for several years and Paper Lantern has been retired.
About the Jupiter theme
The Jupiter theme is the modern interface for cPanel and WHM. It provides a navigation bar, a main menu, a customizable Tools page, a general information panel, and a statistics panel. As with all cPanel themes, you can switch themes at any time from inside cPanel if your hosting plan offers more than one option.
Before you begin
- An active Exact Hosting cPanel hosting plan. The Jupiter theme is the default on Exact Hosting cPanel servers.
- Access to your cPanel account. See Managing cPanel Access if you need help signing in.
Navigation bar
The navigation bar runs across the top of cPanel and shows the active account, the search bar, and account controls.
- Search bar. Type the name of any cPanel feature to jump straight to it.
- Account icon. Click your cPanel account icon to manage preferences, change your password, change the language, update contact information, or log out.
- Reset page settings. Use this option in the user menu to restore the default layout of the cPanel interface.
Main menu
The main menu lets you jump back to the Tools page from anywhere in cPanel and provides quick access to features like WordPress Toolkit. The main menu is visible on every cPanel screen. Click the cPanel logo at any time to return to your default cPanel home page.
Tools page
The Tools page lists every cPanel feature available on your hosting plan. Jupiter replaces the icon grid from the older Paper Lantern theme with a cleaner list layout. You can drag and drop sections to rearrange them, so the tools you use most often appear where you want them.
General information panel
The general information panel displays the core details about your cPanel account.
