If you need to move a product or domain from one Exact Hosting account to another, our support team can handle the transfer for you. This article explains what verification we need and what details to include in your request.
About account-to-account transfers
Account-to-account transfers move ownership of an existing service — such as a domain registration, hosting service, or email service — from one Exact Hosting account to another. Because transfers change who controls the service and is billed for it, both the source and destination accounts must be verified before we can proceed.
Before you begin
- The support PIN for the source account. This is the account that currently owns the product or domain. Learn how to find your support PIN.
- The support PIN for the destination account. The account that will receive the product or domain must also provide its support PIN.
- A clear list of what you want moved. Identify each domain, hosting service, or email service by name so support can verify and transfer the correct items.
- Destination account details, if it does not yet exist. If we need to create the destination account as part of the transfer, gather the contact details listed in Step 2 below.
Step 1: Submit a Verified Transfer Request
Send a support ticket from the email address on the source account so we can confirm your identity. Include both support PINs and the items you want moved.
- Email help@exacthosting.com from the email address on the source account.
- Include the source account support PIN and the destination account support PIN.
- List the items you want moved. Each item should fall into one of these categories:
- Domain registration
- Hosting service
- Email service
- Any combination of the above
- Submit the ticket and wait for support to confirm receipt.
Note: Requests sent from an email address that is not on file for the source account cannot be verified and will be declined.
Step 2: Provide New Account Creation Details (If Needed)
If the destination account does not exist yet and you want Exact Hosting to create it as part of the transfer, include the following contact details in your support ticket.
- First name
- Last name
- Company name (optional)
- Email address
- Address line 1
- Address line 2 (optional)
- City
- Postal code
- State or region
- Country
- Phone number
- VAT number (if applicable for EU customers)
Tip: Double-check the email address you provide for the new account. The destination account's welcome email and password reset link are sent to this address.
Step 3: Wait for Confirmation
Once support has verified both support PINs and received all required information, we move the requested items to the destination account.
- Support reviews the request and confirms both support PINs.
- If a new destination account is needed, support creates it using the details you provided.
- Support moves the listed items and sends a confirmation email to both accounts.
Next steps
- Sign in to the destination account. After you receive the confirmation email, log in to the destination account and verify the transferred items appear under Services and Domains.
- Confirm the billing setup. Make sure a valid payment method is on file for the destination account so future renewals do not lapse.
- Update related records. If the moved items are connected to DNS, email forwarding, or third-party services, confirm those still resolve correctly after the transfer.
