Updating primary account information

Your primary account information should reflect the owner and manager of services for the account. Exact Hosting uses this information to verify account ownership.

  1. Open the client area, click Account, then Login.
  2. Select Account details.
  3. Update the relevant fields.
  4. Click Save changes.

Managing your payment method

Exact Hosting offers auto-renewal for services when a valid payment method is on file.

Important: Our team cannot accept credit card details by email or phone. Manually updating your payment method is the safest way to ensure services renew.

Add a credit card

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.
  2. Select Billing, then Payment methods.
  3. Click Add new credit card.
  4. Enter the required fields and click Save changes.

Remove a credit card

Credit card information on file cannot be modified. To update a card, remove it and add a new one.

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.
  2. Select Billing, then Payment methods.
  3. Find the icons to the right of the card and click Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

Paying your invoice

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.
  2. Click Invoices.
  3. Select Unpaid next to the desired invoice.
  4. Click Pay now.
  5. Enter card information if none is on file and click Submit payment.

Instructions for popular email clients

As a courtesy, we have provided links to certain third-party email client products. We do not directly support these third-party products. If the email server settings in this article do not connect your client, contact that vendor's support directly.

Updating domain registration information

Registrars use domain registrant information to identify the owner of a domain registration. Domain registrant information is not the same as your primary account information — keep both sets of contacts accurate.

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Select the desired domain.
  4. Click Contact information.
  5. Choose how to populate the contact information:
    • Use existing account contact — Select this if you want the domain contacts to match the account contact details.
    • Specify custom information below — Select this if you want to enter information that is different from the account holder.
  6. Click Save changes.

Managing domain DNS

Legacy DNS remained active until September 30, 2023, and customers did not need to take action on their DNS settings during that period. For any DNS changes today, contact Exact Hosting support.

Canceling services

Services can be canceled within the Exact Hosting client area. To cancel a domain, disable auto-renew — the domain naturally expires and leaves your account.

Cancel web hosting services

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.
  2. Click Services.
  3. Find the service you want to adjust and click anywhere on that row.
  4. Click Request cancellation.
  5. Briefly describe your reason for cancellation, check the confirmation box, select the cancellation type, and click Request cancellation.

Cancel a domain name renewal

To cancel a domain, disable the auto-renew feature in the client area and allow the domain to expire fully.

Note: During this time, the registrar may continue to send renewal reminder notifications. You can disregard these if you no longer want the domain.

  1. Open the client area, click Account, and then Login.
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Select the correct domain by clicking anywhere on its row.
  4. Choose Auto renew.
  5. Select Disable auto renew.
